Aspen is 10!

Aspen had her 10th b-day, and it's hard to think I've been a mom for 10 years now. WOW.
She wanted a pirate themed party. It was fun! She had some friends from school over. They decorated cookies, played Twister, and Clue. 2 girls got to spend the night. I wasn't about to relive last year's party; 16 girls spent the night. Holy Cow...that was intense!!!! hahahahahahha Needless to say the meager allowance this year. hahahahha

Aspen, I love you. I would not be the same without you. You have given me an amazing gift, the gift of motherhood. And so our song...

"Me and you, and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it had to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So happy together
I can't see me loving nobody but you
For all my life
When you're with me
Baby the skies will be blue, for all my life"

Christmas, Please Come Soon!

In my OCD state I have already:

Decorated...check, (which from the pictures is quite meager this year, I didn't put up much I'm trying to get rid of some of the stuff I've kept for way too long, a couple things were from a favorite boyfriend from High School, well, my first love which is why I probably hung on to them so long.) Dallas hung lights outside though, and they're beautiful!

Bought and wrapped presents...check

Sent out Christmas Cards...check

and here I sit twiddling my thumbs, just waiting for Christmas Eve...

This weekend we're planning to watch two traditional movies, "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" and "The Christmas Story". I'm pulling out all the stops too! Treats, friends, and lot's of laughing! Tuesday we depart for Yakivegas...Yeehaw! I'm really excited to go home. Myself and the kiddies are going to start the festivities early and Dallas will come as soon as he can.

Black Friday...Yippee!!

As tradition calls...I went shopping at 4 am with my girlie friends. Jill, Tiffany, myself, and my sis'in'law Andrea; we all ran around town shopping for the items we had put on our lists just a few hours earlier. It was hilarious watching my van go from empty to packed in a matter of hours, (we even had the back seat down). It was exciting to have it packed with Holiday gifts and goodies! I think Wal-mart was the craziest in terms of frenzied people. People were screaming, and for once I wasn't the person doing the screaming, hahahahahaha. (I'm kinda loud, or so I'm told. hahahahaha)
Hit up Target, Toys'R'Us, Michaels', Shopko, and Fred Meyer. And don't forget Wal-mart. Thanks to Jill most of us got a couple $8 super cute coats.

Later I went to another showing of Twilight, I know, I know, I'm an addict. I went with Tiffany, and we met Amanda, Annette, and Annette's Sis'in'law, I think, and I believe her name was Brooke as well. I didn't get to chat much with her seeng as how we were in the movie theater and on opposite sides. I hoped the 2nd showing would be better than the first. Now that I knew what to expect, I felt I could watch it as if I hadn't read the book. I ended up liking it a lot more than I did the first go round, but still, there were a couple parts that were just too darn cheesy. I laughed out loud. However, I'm still an addict and will end up buying the movie in the end. Ugh! What a crazy broad I am sometimes!

Hair Cut

As I was making some Holiday food for turkey day, I realized that I hadn't heard Layken for a little while. So I called out to her and asked what she was doing. Her reply was, "I don't know." As a parent this sets off every red flag in the book. I ran to her bedroom, the door was shut and when I opened the door the light was off. I noticed that she had taken off her shirt which isn't anything unusual if you know the kid. I then noticed that there were little pieces of fabric strewn across the carpet. In her hand was a pair of scissors, and in the other was her shredded shirt. As I proceeded to get angry I noticed that there was something funny on the floor so I turned on the light. It turned out to be lot's and lot's of Layken 's hair that she had cut off minutes before my arrival. Now the kid has a mullet. Professional in the front and party in the back 24/7. Yeehaw! Hope you enjoy the pics! hahahahahahaha This is the 2nd time she's done this, the first was over at g-ma Mary's house. Shame Shame.

Twilight Movie

I went to see the movie that I have been anticipating for quite some time now. I tried not to get too pumped for it, in case it stunk, but I couldn't help getting kinda pumped, ha ha! I have to admit I was a bit let down. I really thought the graphics and attention to detail were quite lacking. I want to re-read the book again, but I hesitate because, my hubby would tell you that I become consumed when I read it. Nothing else matters. As this is not completely true but would be accurate if he left out the nothing else matters part. I mean I throw my kids some crackers every now and then! hahahahahahaha I think I'll have to see it again to make my final decision on the flick, but my initial instinct was to reject it! I didn't like the 1st Harry Potter flick either. A movie cannot compare to the book. Dang it. I'm all up for 5 hour flick if it will follow the book exactly! hahahahahhahaha

Tribute

My all time favorite Christmas movie and perhaps one of my top favorite movies ever...The Christmas Story. I just got my Leg Lamp today and had to put it up...ya, this bad boy is going to shine forth from now until after New Year's sometime. "The soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the window." My window. hahahahahha I just have to figure out how it can be done without the kids breaking it, so for now it's in my entry.

PS

I'm a brunette again, think I should go darker though, at least for a lil while until I get bored and what something different.
We also moved. From the red brick house to the wood sided home. We're neighbors with a lot of fun people! I couldn't find a pic of the house finished so you'll notice the trim isn't finished, but for those of you who have asked, here ya go!

I turned 29

And let me just say, I love it! I love my b-day! I don't care how old I get, how wrinkled, how saggy I become, I love my b-day. I can't understand it, people seem to freak out by age, I embrace it! I love life, and with age comes wisdom. So throw at me all the wrinkles, and all the saggy skin world, because I will always love my b-day!
We had a great time this year. Went to Phuket Thai, my fav restaurant, and all the people who came made the night so wonderful! It was so much fun! Sunday, on my actual b-day my GF, Tiffany, made me dinner which was wonderful , and my other GF made me 3 homemade banana creme pies. They were so good! Thank you girls for making my b-day special!

My Fuzzy

He's all dressed up in his Christmas outfit. I was just trying it on to make sure it all fit and couldn't help but take this photo of him wearing his hat. He reminds me of my dad in this pic, not sure why? Perhaps it' the hat.

Halloween! ooooowwww!

Went around our new neighborhood trick or treating. The Allen and Parrish kids went Trick or Treating with our kids. They were all so cute! Dallas stayed home and worked on getting our attic completed so we could get the cars in the garage. It's getting cold out! we didn't have a s many trick or treaters come to the house as I had hoped. So we got stuck with a TON of candy. Good thing I bought the good stuff, eh? Layken was a monkey, Aspen was 50's girl, and Easton was the fat chicken because he was still to small to fit in the next size up costume. My parents were here and manned, (I don't believe this is a real word.), the candy for me while I was out and about.

Pumpkin Patch

Went to the pumpkin patch with the Allen's, went on a hay ride to seek out the best pumpkin's from the pumpkin patch. We got 5 pumpkins, and mine was the biggest. I like the big ones! "That's what she said!" hahahahahha, (Office, sorry, couldn't help myself.) Had A LOT of kettle korn and had fun looking at the animals. There was a bit too much dust floating around though. You can actually see the dust particles in our family shot. Later went to Terry's 30th unsurprise b-day party. Terry you're a stinker!

The DOL

I got up and got ready this morning because I realized that my license was expired by a week. After getting teased by my good friend Terry, he realized his license was expired as well, by a month! hahahahaha, Needless to say Terry and I made our way to the Do this morning feeling pretty darn good that by leaving 15 minutes before it opened was gonna give us ample time to get a jump start on the line. I think both of our mouths were hanging somewhere near the floor when we arrived 5 minutes early and saw that the line I had invisioned to be small was in fact, LONG. But we trudged out of the "Big Daddy" truck and got in line. I was number 16 and Terry was 17. We weren't sure how long we were gonna have to sit on those plastic chairs and I was REALLY hoping for a new photo! In the end, after a lot of BSing, we only had to wait for 40 minutes and we both got new pics, although Terry's looks identical to his old pic...seriously, what was the point of re-taking it! hahahahhahaha
PS My photo is a 10. I look HOT! hahhahahhaha, no seriously, I do! hahahhahahhaha

Weekend at Grandma's

We went to the fair this weekend, and had a great time. My mom and Layken road all the rides together. It was so cute! They had a lot of fun. We ate A LOT of fair food too! The kids got to ride the pony ride. Easton was really excited. He loved the horses!
Layken loved seeing the bunnies most of all. The kid stopped at EVERY cage to see EVERY bunny. It was hilarious! My mom and I tried to shuffle her through quickly but it didn't happen! hahahahahaha, so much for trying!
We stayed at the fair most of the day, from 10 'til 6 or so. We also entered Easton in the Diaper Derby. There were 5 qualifying heats. Easton won his qualifying heat. Each baby/toddler, from birth to 2, had to crawl across the stage without standing. First one to the other side won. Well, Easton was pretty good. He won after taking a break and whining in the middle of the stage half way to me. He pulled through in the end and took first, so he qualified for the championship race. Poor kid was drained by the time the championship race came. We tried to spunk him up, gave him a few swigs of our caffeinated pop. To no avail, the kid was ready for his nap, and did not even leave the start line. HAHHAHAHAHAHA, he did get a Veggie Tales movie, a coloring book , a sippy cup, and some pamphlets on how to talk to your kids about sex. It was his participation award!
Oh and the pics of Easton being pulled on the blanket by my dad are funny because Easton would run to that blanket lay on it and wait for someone to pull him around. It's a new thing he does with the girls.

Elsner's Wedding

Dallas' buddy got hitched September 19th. We went to Seattle from Thursday thru Saturday with our pals Johnny and Jill. We had a great time! These pics are from the wedding. I'm waiting to get the pics of us decorating the wedding car. They're hilarious!
We stayed with Elsner and his fiancee, Kristen, at their house in Shoreline. Hung out and played the Wii Friday waiting for the festivities to start. It didn't take long for Jill and I to get ready because we're so glamorous and have a natural beauty! So we had quite a bit of time to kill. What we did though is our 'lil secret! Let's just say, we'd be great spies! hahahahahahha
Friday we stayed at the Red Lion and Saturday we went to Ikea and Fry's an electronic store heaven!

Sissy

Claire and I took some photos before she moved back to Yakima so this is my Ode to my sissy, Claire. You're beautiful.

Corn Fairy

So again, I pulled out of the garage to take Aspen to school and there it sat....another bag of corn. This isn't just a few cobs, it's over a dozen each time. We have no idea who keeps bringing us this corn. We've asked around and nobody seems to know. This is the third appearance of this tasty vegetable at our doorstep. I've used it all, put it all to good use. I've made it all into freezer corn.
The mystery remains... who is the corn fairy ?

Here's just a few of the pics Tiffany took of us. Thought these were beautiful! If you like what you see, log on to www.tiffanyparrishphotography.com

School Begins

School started for my now, 4th grader, Aspen! Holy cow, time flies! She's in Mrs. Castro's class this year. She has always loved school and I hoped this year would be the same. When I picked her up after school that day, she said this was year was going to be better than all the other year's! So far she loves it. She's learning about light bulbs and Benjamin Franklin right now, and says it's really neat to use the batteries and make he light bulb turn on and off.

Love blasted, joyful life!

Dallas and I celebrated our 4th Wedding anniversary on the 21st of August. We got a babysitter, went to PF Chang's and ordered way too much food for 2 people! It was fun. I had been giving Dallas a gift each morning and each night for the previous 3 days. They were silly, inexpensive gifts. One gift was a Goofy figurine because he's so goofy, another was a 'il homie out a a quarter machine, 'cause he's my homie yo! hahahahaha I made him his favorite meals and made everyone drink from "Crazy" straws because he sometimes make s me crazy and I him, but we're still in love! Anyway I was very giddy for my gift and became quickly disappointed when Dallas told me at dinner that night that he didn't get me anything because he didn't know what to get me. Then he told me I could pick something out, because my face looked so sad. I was really sad 'cause I had just gone to all this effort to make each day for 4 days straight be fun and special, and he couldn't think of anything for me...SUCK!!! We had to go see Clay's new Doggie door or that's what I was told, Dallas seemed to go begrudgingly. First thing I said to Linsey as I walked through her door was, He didn't get me jack for our anniversary!" Then Dallas excused himself to the bathroom and came back with a large gift. It was a kitchen aid mixer. I've wanted one of these for some time, but Dallas seemed to be unconvinced that I would make good use out of it. Clay video taped my reaction. I think I was stupefied!
I love you Dallas. Happy 4 years of crazy, fun filled, love blasted, joyful life!
